Have you ever heard of the Various?  There are a tribe of strange, wild -- and sometimes deadly, fairies.  They live in the woods in the Somerset countryside.  When 12-year-old Midge is spending two weeks visiting her uncle, she comes upon the Various.  She gets to know the wee folk and learns some of their ways.  She learns that they have been pushed aside by growing development and this is one of the last places they can live without being discovered by humans.  But then Midge finds out that her uncle plans to sell the land to a developer.  When she tries to warn the Various, they turn on her.   What will happen to Midge?
