Helen wans't sure what to expect when her grandfather arried to live with them.  Gong Gong is from China and speaks no English at all.  Helns and her siblings had tried to learn Chinese but they found it too hard and gave up.  They had no luck drawing the characters either.  The first few days with Gong Gong are difficult.  He is sad that the children had not learned to speak Chinese.  He spends his days alone reading his Chinese newspapers.  One day, as Helen is out back watching a train go by, she notices Gong Gong watching out of his window.  Later, Gong Gong joins Helen out back as the trains go by.  A marvelous thing begins to happen.  Can you guess what it is?  Find out if you are right in GRANDFATHER COUNTS by Andrea Cheng.
