THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY
New York : Ballantine Books, 1975.
IL AD
ISBN 034539092X
A true story about a train robbery in the mid nineteenth century. The mysterious Edward Pierce plans this cunning robbery for a fortune. A robbery during this time took months of planning and obtaining imperative information and objects. This robbery took place a decade before the innovative dynamite so Pierce and his comrades had to obtain four keys to the safes where the money would be kept. It was especially frustrating for Pierce when the railroad company needed to fix the safes and delayed the date of the robbery. To find out what happens to Pierce and the money, read THE GREAT TRAIN ROBBERY by Michael Crichton. (Eugene C., 8th grade student, Rundlett Middle School, Concord, New Hampshire)
