Danny has the most marvelous and exciting father a boy ever had. Danny and his father live together in a gypsy caravan and run a gas station and car repair shop.  They share everything, or so Danny thinks, until one night he wakes and his father is gone.

The night is passing and Danny sets out to find his father who has been injured. He then shares with Danny the secret passion he has. Danny asks to join in with his father, partly to make sure he's safe and partly for the adventure. Danny turns out to be a natural. Through a series of very funny events, together they pull off the biggest caper this part of England has ever seen. (Linda Packard, 4th grade teacher, Pullman Elem., Pullman, MI)
