7th graders Tara Starr and Elizabeth are best friends.  They are an unlikely pair.  Tara Starr comes from a family of free spirits.  Her parents were only 17 when Tara Starr was born and she has always felt as if she was raising them. There was never enough money or stability in her life.  Elizabeth comes from a well-to-do family that seems to be so perfect.  When Tara Starr's parents move to Ohio, the two girls are restricted to letter writing to keep their friendship going.  As Tara Starr's life takes a turn for the better, Elizabeth's life seems to be going the opposite direction.  Told in a series of letters that follow the girls through their 7th grade year, P.S. Longer Letter Later, find out how lives change for the girls.
