Walter Nutria, a high school freshman, is playing hooky from school when a large flying saucer comes his way. A ramp descends with a baseball glove at the end with a note on large yellow paper inviting him to come aboard. Walter figures he has nothing to lose…so he climbs aboard. The 3 aliens, from the planet Lirg, look identical to his uncle Horton Nutria, except that they are wearing red pajamas with footies…and a pointed hood.

Beatnik Rutabagas from Beyond the Stars is a story that gets funnier as you read it. If you want a good laugh, if you like science fiction, if you enjoy Mystery Science Theater 3000…I think you will like this book.
