Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert is the story of a man made from a variety of types of leaves.  He flies over animals and objects that are also made from different leaves. The pages of the book are die-cut into the shapes of leaves and overlap one another to suggest hills in the distance. The reds, yellows, oranges, browns, and greens make a very colorful and extremely eye-catching combination. Leaves are named on the front and back end papers and unknown leaves are identified as to place of origin on the dust jacket. This book would be a great introduction to leaf study or the seasons.  (Prepared by: Susan Cassels for SCASL Picture Book Awards, 2007-2008)
