Maddie is really looking forward to the weekend. She and two friends are going to sneak into her grandparents' home for a night alone, But Emma and Ashanti back out at the last minute leaving Maddie alone in the house. She is awoken in the middle of the night to the sounds of loud voices in the hallway outside. She hides so she won't get in trouble for being here. When she wakes up the next morning and plugs in her phone, she sees an emergency alert "Imminent threat alert. Increased protective actions are being taken. Follow instructions of local authorities. This is not a drill." Maddie is now alone and no one knows she is here.
