Well, all he does is sit behind his newspaper.  He doesn't notice what is going on around him anyway.  So what's the big deal?  And the gold fish are really cool.  So, just trade dad for the gold fish.  No problem.  Except when mom comes home and wants to know where dad is.  And then demands that the children trade the gold fish back.  Problem is, dad's been traded again!
