D IS FOR DEMOCRACY : A CITIZEN'S ALPHABET
Chelsea, MI : Sleeping Bear Press, 2004.
IL 3-6
ISBN 1585362344
I just love alphabet books, don't you?  This one is all about democracy.  Each letter stands for a concept that is then explained in a side box.  For instance,
E is for elections --
We're guaranteed this right.
It often gets exciting
counting votes all night.

The side box for this letter explains the election process and how it works.  This is a great book to look at to understand how democracy works.

SUBJECTS:     United States -- Politics and government.
                        Alphabet.
