One part perfection, two parts casual, three parts crazy.  That’s my family.  You see, my stepbrothers call me “Iz,” my mother calls me “Elizabeth,” and my dad and Alice call me “Liz.” I have three stepbrothers, and we are determined to get a dog, no matter what it takes.  That’s why we devised the G. E. D. plan, which was the beginning of a lot of interesting moments in an already lively house.  Oh yes, let’s not forget my friend Claire, who is dopey over Logan. Can you even begin to imagine how a praying mantis, a hedgehog, Elvis, blue hair, and a hospital among other things contribute to my “never-a-dull-moment” life?  Well, you’ll just have to read Animal House and Iz to find out!  (Kitt Lisenby, South Carolina Book Awards, 2006)
