Way back in the 1960s, President Kennedy offered a challenge to the nation.  A challenge to land a man on the moon before the decade ended.  There were many people who worked to make this a reality.  There weresome very brave men who volunteered to be on the astronaut corps.  Since no one had ever traveled into space before, these men were exceptionally brave to want to try this.  Among the first astronauts were three men who would eventually be the first to the moon.  This is their story.
