The year is 1896 and Miles and Wick are bored.  The two are brothers are the sons of very wealthy parents.  After almost being expelled from school, they are sent on a summer excursion with Uncle Eustace.  The boys plot their escape but things don't turn out as planned.  Uncle Eustace is set on buying the best art that can be bought.  To do this, he has hired an art expert who also serves as his butler.  But when Jose disappears and Uncle Eustace is taken ill, the boys set out on their own to find out what is really going on.
