Megan is not what you would call and outdoorsy type of girl.  When her parents drag her to Vermont for the summer, she hates the whole thing.  She is bored and wants to go back to Massachusetts to be with her best friend whose mother is ill.  When Megan and her sister go for a walk in the woods, Megan loses sight of her sister and is lost.  She doesn't panic and looks at this as an opportunity.  She'll just hike to Massachusetts and see her friend.  But can a city girl equipped with a few peanut butter sandwiches, some tofu and a copy of My Side of the Mountain find her way in the woods alone?
