Pete lives with his uncle in Winston. He meets a girl working at a nut shop. It's clear that there isn't a simple story here when we figure out that they each have a secret they'd like to share and not make a difference. It gets cloak and dagger when the FBI starts to follow Pete, we learn that his parents are fugitives. What kind of loyalty can we expect from Pete when his long-lost mother wants him to pickup and move to New York? What about the loyalty to his uncle who has been his mom and dad?
