Reeve, McLain, Jr., better known as Junebug, is not looking forward to his birthday. In just a few weeks, Junebug will turn ten. He's decided he doesn't want to turn ten so he'll just ignore his birthday this year. You see, Junebug lives in the Projects in New Haven, Connecticut. Turning ten in the Projects means it's time to join a gang. Junebug doesn't want to be in a gang and carry a gun like Trevor. He is happy collecting his bottles and dreaming of sailing off to the West Indies, wherever they may be. Follow Junebug's adventures as he prepares to launch his flotilla that he hopes will change his life.
