Have you ever heard of the condition known as synesthesia?  It is a condition that causes people to associate words with colors.  I had never heard of this before but during the past couple of years, there have been several books published in which the main character has synesthesia.  In Mondays Are Red, Luke wakes up from a coma caused by meningitis only to find that he has developed synesthesia.  He begins to associate words and objects through taste, sight, smell, touch and sound.  At first, he embraces the new experiences and writes about them in his poetry.  But then he comes face to face with his inner demon and believes he must fight to save his sister.
SUBJECTS:     Sick -- Fiction.
                        Synesthesia -- Fiction.
