Cilka's Journey is a follow up book to the author's award winning The Tattooist of Auschwitz. In that book, we are introduced to the teenage girl named Cilka living in the concentration camp during World War II. This book focuses on Cilka and what she endured during and after the war. When the Jews were freed from the camps, some, like Cilka find themselves standing trial for what they did to survive. Sentenced to 15 years hard labor in a Russian gulag, we follow Cilka as she once again tries to survive unthinkable hardship.
