Will Newton was surviving junior high in Madison, Wisconsin. Just when he started having things figured out -- which drinking fountain was gummed up-- and when a cute girl had started to notice him, his Dad moves them to a small house in the woods. That summer, Will discovered Sucker Lake and the girl next door. At first guilty about spending so much time on the island, Will settled in to roughing it with the help of his new friend Susan. Will starts putting the pieces together in his own life as he starts to pay attention to what his core is telling him from inside -- not what seems expected by his parents.
