THE SAFE PLACE
New York : Pilspopamy, 1996.
IL YA
Why is it that a quarter is 25 cents but only 15 minutes? Why is the electrical circuit closed when the light is open but open when the light is closed? When you divide a circle into four parts, why does it still equal just one? Kinneret is a fifth grade girl who doesn't understand why the rules are always changing. She tries very hard to be like the other girls in her class but she doesn't understand why they can understand things she can't. In November, Mrs. Klein is hired as the school's special education teacher. Kinneret reluctantly works with Mrs. Klein. Kinneret is surprised to learn that she has a learning disability which means she learns things differently from others. Share Kinneret's journey to find her "Safe Place".
