Sheriff John is one of the best.  He knows how to keep his town peaceful.  Not like a lot of others in the west.  And Sheriff John always believed that it was his ten gallon hat that kept him safe.  No matter where he went or what he was doing, he always told people not to touch his hat.  Even his wife!  And she was pretty fond of hats as well.  But she didn't have just one favorite hat.  She had lots of them.  And she gets really annoyed that Sheriff John loves his beat up old hat so much.  Can anything change that?
