When I was growing up, we learned that there were 9 planets in our solar system.  But in 2006, Pluto was downgraded from a planet.  How does something like that happen?  Why did scientists decide after all these years that Pluto was not a planet?  Did you know that there once was a planet named Ceres?  After many years, scientists decided that Ceres was an asteroid and not a planet and it was reclassified.  So Pluto is not the first celestial body to be demoted.
