Ten year old Alonzo King was born on Halloween.  Is it any wonder that he is obsessed with monsters?  He loves watching old monster movies on TV.  His favorite show is Monsters at Midnight.  His mother doesn't want him to watch it because he sometimes has nightmares.  But Alonzo watches anyway.  He has seen about all of the old monster movies.  His favorite actor is Lon Chaney -- the man of a thousand faces.  Now Alonzo strives to become the Boy of a Thousand Faces.  He tries different makeup and takes pictures of himself that he pastes into a secret notebook.  So far he only has 23 faces.  He writes to the host of his favorite show hoping he can get some ideas for more faces.  Then, without warning, in a town that doesn't believe in monsters, THE BEAST arrives.  One of the scariest monsters ever.  Can Alonzo discover the secret of The Beast?
