Three siblings, nine-year-old Sarita, seven-year-old Ravi and the baby, anxiously await the arrival of their vagabond uncle in a small town in northern India. Younguncle, as he is known to everyone, arrives with a flourish. He entertains all around him with his wild antics: getting rid of his sister’s fiancé by pretending to be crazy, taming the ghost in the tree, and even chasing a bus while riding on a bull. He refuses to settle down but is loved by all around him for his kindness and thoughtfulness. Each chapter presents a humorous episode in Younguncle’s life.  (Pennsylvania Young Reader’s Choice Awards nominee, 2008-2009)
