Her mother tells of life in Canada where the slaves can go to be free. All she needs to do to find Canada is follow the north star. On the new plantation, life is hard. Julilly and her new friend Liza decide to runaway to Canada. The girls disguise themselves as boys as they are helped by abolitionists on the Underground Railroad.
