During the 1700s and early 1800s, California was under Spanish rule.   During that time, many missions were established.  A mission included a church, living quarters and farmlands.  The purpose of the mission was to spread Christianity to the Native Americans in California.  Near the missions were forts and small towns.  As more and more Mexicans moved into California, large ranches were established.  Sometimes the mission padre would visit the ranches and this was a very special time.  Come on along as the Delgado family welcomes Padre Ramon to their home.
