 Junior year of high school starts out zitless and basically happy for Tess Whistle.  No worries at all.  Unless you count her best friend Zena Crow who has become obsessed about building a bomb and blowing up a poodle.  And her born again parents who are about to run away to join a survival camp.  And the new boy -- Ben Easter.  Tess didn't mean to start out their relationship  with a lie but how else could she explain the apple juice that tumbled out of her locker and hit him?  And once you lie, it just keeps getting bigger.  Told in a laugh out loud narrative, we also find out about Tess' irrational fear of anything to do with nature.
