Punished by their master, Chiron the centaur, for riding pigs through a nearby village, Jason and his five companions are sent to gather herbs. When they return, they discover there has been a fight. The only thing the other centaurs took was two jars. Given a meeting with Chiron, Jason finds he is not the orphan he once thought he was. He is told what is in the jars-the ultimate healing salve (which can raise the dead) and the ultimate poison (which can kill entire lands with horrible deaths). It becomes a deadly race, trying to stop an ancient leader resurrected with the healing salve from killing the descendants of his ancient enemy. Can they recover the jars in time to save the city of Iolcus? Read Jason and the Gorgon's Blood to find out!  (Amelia D., student-5th grade)
