Tripp, Valerie and Dan Andreasen. Meet Felicity : An American Girl. Pleasant Company, 1991. Reviewed by Vicki S., Conant Elementary School.

It's a battle between a nine year old girl and a horse with her freedom and a cold hearted elderly man. Of course you'd never guess this is part of the American Girls Collection.

You will love this book from the very start. Once you pick it up, you can't put it down! This book takes place in the late "seventeen hundreds" just before the American Revolution. This tory shows how a horse and a girl can get attached so quickly and yet still learn to gather courage at the same time. The horse's owner is old and very cold hearted, he sees how much Felicity loves his hors and decides he will not have any of it! He ties the horse to a rope by the neck. Meanwhile Felicity is watching and finds out she has to do something fast! She decides she either has to have the horse for her own or set her off into the wild where she belongs, so Felicity hops into some old fashion knickers and her mother's old and very floppy bonnet and sets off into tons of adventure and funny scenes. To find out more about these funny and daring adventures go to your local library and take out Meet Felicity.
